I think brussels sprouts typically smell and taste a little like old garbage. Or a full diaper. But these guys - well, I could eat them every week. I also thought it would be a good idea to post this in case you're looking for a Thanksgiving vegetable - something other than green bean casserole.
1 cup beef broth 1 T butter
2 T red wine vinegar 2 T minced onions
1 bag frozen brussels sprouts, OR 1 1/2 t salt
stalk fresh sprouts, trimmed, washed, 1/4 t pepper
and drained parmesan cheese
1)
Combine broth, vinegar, and sprouts in a medium saucepan. Over
medium-high heat, bring to a boil. Add sprouts and reduce heat to
medium; simmer until liquid has boiled off, approximately twenty
minutes.
2) Add butter, onions, salt and pepper.
Stir well to combine. Stirring frequently, cook sprouts until onion is
soft and sprouts have browned, approximately ten minutes. Sprinkle with
parmesan cheese and serve.
